Hello,

Trying to answer above question - Thanks very much for the help!

Using MapPoint to determine Marketing Universe by Zip Code - We send the ZipCodes to a Direct Mail Company that in turn mails our Mail Pieces.

I am worried that MP does not show all possible zip codes. For example in MP Philadelphia shows as 20 zipcodes - but zipcode.com shows 87.

If I only mail to the 20 zips in MP will I still get all of Philly?

Thanks again!

Hi,

i'm not sure I understeand the question. If there are 87 zip codes and you mail to 20 of them then there are 67 not reached. Or did I not understeand right ?

If you want to scan for zipcodes (or any other Location object) then you just scan the map in points with equal distance to each other. See 'snap to road' aritcle to know what I mean.

Please take note of the advertisements surrounding this page, some quoting 4x per year updates on zipcodes for $$.

I think you're looking at results for the COUNTY of Philadelphia, and not the City.
For example, if you got zipcode 19012 from zipcode.com, it's not really a Philadelphia "city" zipcode. Instead, it covers the city of Cheltenham, which is north-northeast of Philadelphia.
