Pushpin (cannot add)

Hi, I am having problems adding a pushpin, I can select a pushpin from the 'Draw Menu Bar' I then click on the map, the pushpin Icon with target shows, but when I left click it simply disappears and does not insert the pushpin. This used to work fine, but suddenly it has stopped working. I have uninstalled and re-installed Mappoint 2006 Europe, to no avail. Any Ideas? Thanks in advance. Peter

Hi Peter, is it just a plain map you're trying to add the pushpin to or are there things (shapes, data etc) already plotted on the map?

Firstly thanks for replying.

No just a plain map.

I usually save a default template. (New European Map.ptt)
With the map zoomed into the area around our office, and a single pushpin with the location of our office.

I have been doing this for years, first with Autoroute then with Mappoint.

Hi there Peter

In that case I’m stumped. When I’ve experienced the kind of MP behaviour you describe it’s always been due to the order of what’s on the screen – basically the pushpins are hidden behind something else. I tried to replicate your problem by creating a similar template (although I didn’t overwrite New European Map.ptt as I think you probably did based on what you say in your post) and everything continued to work just fine.

I guess my only suggestion would be to repost your question in the MapPoint Discussion Forum on this site which is much more heavily trafficked than this one (Article Comments and Questions) by people who know MapPoint inside out.
