Using Mappoint for Publishing a Short Report

We are a small consulting company that specializes in public transport infrastructure projects. We would like to make a map of proposed rail projects in Africa, and put it into a report for sale (to probably only a couple-dozen of our best customers). Can we use Mappoint to do this? What kind of royalties will Microsoft charge? Will we be legally required to always have the "Copyright Microsoft," etc. text at the bottom of the map when we try to paste it into Quark or Illustrator (that is, if we don't crop it out)? Is there any kind of plugin that will clean up the map and make it look more original (e.g. change the font, border thickness, and colours, or let us choose the layers that we want to display, etc.)? Perhaps we should be using software other than Mappoint for this endeavour (i.e. entering city pairs and having the software draw lines between them)?

Thanks for any advice you can offer!

MapPoint has only limited coverage of Africa. You might want to try a demo to see if it has enough detail, and enough cities for your needs.
