can i use mp2006 locally

Im new th map point, and i dont know with product to use.
My question is:

I have to develop a desktop appllication who display a map in a windows form (i don't want to use a web page).

Is there a mappoint product wich can be installed only on my local machine. I dont want to use a connection with internet.
I want to load locally the map from my computer and show (for example) the location of a point (longitude/latitude).
Is mappoint2006 is the product that i need?

Can you tell me please wich product can i install locally.
i want to develop with c#.net.

Hi,

You have to use the MapPoint desktop version. Currently it is MapPoint 2006. After installation of it you have an axtiveX control which you can drop on a form in your c# application. Works as a glance and you can do exactly as for your needs.
