Mappoint importing with excel error

Hey there, sorry if this has been posted before, but I have searched around, tried some solutions by people in other posts, but have had no luck...

when I attempt to import data with the mapping wizard, I select my spreadsheet and get the error;

There was a problem opening: "filepath"

I searched for the result over this forum and others, but have not found anything that helps... (I also had an error from windows media player while installing, I had seen someone post about that as well)

If anyone has any information to help me out, it would be much appreciated..

You can try out a few things. For example try to open the file with something else, for example a plain text editor or something, just to see if it opens. Are there special symbols or so in the file path or name ? Eventually try to copy the file to the root of the C drive, give it a short name without spaces and try to open it then.

if this all not help, is the file very large or many fields or so ? try eventually with a small file.

Are the right delimiters used ? (I'm not sure if mappoint uses the record and field delimiters as set in your system, maybe someone else know this).

Out of idea's now but this maybe helps to locate the error.
