Virtual Earth Development Support and Resources

If I were just starting to develop on the Virtual Earth platform, can I find all of the support that I need on the Microsoft websites (dev.live.com, msdn, etc.)? Is there any support documents missing? Are there any support shortcomings out there that I should be aware of?
