Can't optimize route in Wyoming???

Hello All,

I am not able to optimize a route with about 140 addresses in the state of WY. I have never had this problem before. I imported the addresses from my excel database as usual. All the locations show up on the map, but going to optimize, I get error telling me that the first location can not be routed to due to no road accessing the location.

I have gone as far as deleting the first handfull of addresses, and I get the same error.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated...

I think you need to loop over and test each stop to see if it's routable. I kept having this problem in Florida where there are lots of canals or whatever they call them down there.

However there may still be some problems with Optimization - even when all stops are routable. I think this occurs when there are dead-end one way streets.

So - no good solution except to do some programming to help find which stop or stops are causing the problem and remove or adjust it or them.

Thanks for the advice. After going through each of the 140 stops (one by one) I was able to locate a stinker sitting on a fork in the road! I moved it up a block and all worked well!

Again, thanks.

What a pain, but glad you solved it.

I remember having problems with dead end streets that were one way - imagine hesitation of the person having to do a delivery to such a location - once you go in you can't come out! Or having to work at a location like that.
