3DVia Survey

For those of you who have used the 3DVia toolset for creating 3D models and injecting them into Live Search Maps, the folks at Dassault Systems are looking for your feedback. I don't know much about 3D modeling, but I wonder if Google Sketchup could be used to create models for Virtual Earth? formats are meant to be converted :-)

What is the output from Sketchup?

If KML, then yes - Microsoft have recently added KML support to Virtual Earth. It may not be complete support, but then Google Maps doesn't completely support KML either! (it was developed for Google Earth)

I don't know what Dassault gave up if anything (you saw Gates and the CEO of Dassault together on the home page of MP2Kmag.com recently), but I hope they find the result of their partnership with Microsoft positive...
