Say that I have three pushpins in my map. If I select these, right-click and export to excel, - in which order will they appear in the worksheet? It seems rather random to me...

You're correct. It definately requires programming to obtain ordering.

The question is: What order should the data be in? MapPoint doesn't know. As Eric says: Use Excel to sort on which ever data field you want.
