Deriving a recordset from a mappoint recordset

Does anybody know how I can manipulate a mappoint record set in VBA? I want to be able to create a new recordset from an existing mappoint recordset as if it were a normal recordset, but I get the error :

"The Microsoft Jet engine cannot find the input table or query 'objZoneRecords'. Make sure it exists..... etc".
