Trust someone can assist.
We are looking for anyone who has designed or knows of a software coms addin /plugin for MapPoint 2006 Europe that can run with 5 second updates of GPS locations and show VE3D birdseye images.
I have found Hakeye 2.0 from Windswept Software. The program however has script errors and does not work. Software like this would be ideal. I cannot contact them so I asume they no longer exist.
We have a real time "LIVE" tracking system in the UK which is using MapPoint software local and we want to view the vehicles movements in a window within MapPoint using 3D / Birds eye maps from virtual earth. Can anyone help with this?

Thanks

Hi

I don't know if it's possible to do this wthin mappoint (I guess it is), but you could do it within a winforms application using a WebBrowser control (I already did it with google maps and Virtual earth).

The refresh rate shouldn't be a problem, provided your users have a fast internet connection.

If you wish me to help you trying this way (webbrowser control), it would be my pleasure.

Michel

Hi Jim

The activex control attached to this post has three methods:
- ResetMap to reset the map.
- AddPin(Latitude, Longitude: Double; Html, Title: WideString)
- AddPolyline(PointsArray: WideString)
I use a TStringList (Create it then fill it with strings in the following form: Latitutde-Longitude) then I passe the TStringList.Text as a parameter to the AddPolyline method.

Sorry for the poor design and documentation, but I didn't have much time to do this: I'll continue it later and add some nice features (passing a dataset to the AddPolyline/AddPin methods, change Map Type, consume Mappoint webservice...).

Hi Again

If you want to use Google earth/Maps imagery instead of VE, than you should take a look at google earth Plugin : Google Earth API - Google Code (http://code.google.com/apis/earth/) .
but it uses quite a lot of memory and every user should install the GE Plugin.

Good Luck
