I don't think Microsoft has announced anything yet... you can expect updated streets of course.

If the last two releases are any guide, there would be few if any API changes and any cool new features are probably things brought over from Streets & Trips since it's the same group developing the products.

...and since this is going to be the 2009 version (Streets & Trips is still at version 2008 ), we will very likely see some features we haven't yet seen in Streets & Trips.

I can't wait! :seeya:

Thanks for de fast response ;-)

I expect this new version will bring us more new features than the older one. All we can do now is to wait. Anyone knows the release date for the European version? I suppose it will be arround September...

I think you're probably right.. in the past (2004 and prior) the NA and EU versions would be released at the same time. But starting with 2006 I think it's the same programmers and testers doing both versions and they do NA and then EU, releasing EU about three months after NA.

Wilfried,

Can you provide details concerning the Routing and User Tools spreadsheet that MapElves is offering with MapPoint 2009 NA pre-orders? What does it bring to the MapPoint table?

Thanks

It is several tools which are separate tabs or worksheets within the spreadsheet.

Geocode Addresses
Optimize Route
Initialization
Mapping An Address
Distance Between Zip Codes
Drawing Drivetime Zones

Each of these includes full source code and can be customized... it basically shatters the kludgy MapPoint interface for doing things and shows you how to automate or program the MapPoint functions from lists and values in Excel.

If you're interested, send me a PM and I can give you an evaluation copy to review.
