As of today, MapPoint doesn't offer any optimization, which really is a pity. It would be great, but a hunch tells me that there is some license issues with NavTeq. As the data provider thet don't want their data being used for that kind of advanced calculations without getting paid for it. (That is my experience using NavTeq data myself)

If you mean multi waypoint optimization, then this is also a cpu hog. Even a good short calculation takes a few seconds with MapPoint. All you need are a few points 'accidentally' spread across two countries and you're talking 30mins+

We have a inexpensive program which runs over MapPoint that does route optimization. You can route up to 60 days in advance with it. The price is based on the number of vehicles you are routing. We have several clients from the federal government down to bakeries, soda companies and the like.

If you want more information, email me or go to C2Logix.com
