Hi all,
I'm new in the forum, I will be working in several applications using either MapPoint or Virtual Earth from now on, so I guess I'll be participating very often.
Regards.

Hi Eric,
I'm from Argentina and I'm currently working at verizon business.
I've already developed a web application with VE 6.0 and now I need to start working on 2 more apps. One is a desktop app. and the other is a mobile app
I realy appreciate your greetings.
Regards,
Daniel

For Argentina, MapPoint Desktop / DVD product does not have data... so you will probably stick with Virtual Earth.
I have been programming with it a lot lately and really enjoy it.. it's a lot simpler than I had imagined. My only gripe would be the samples/documentation is always changing because the product is evolving so fast! I always have to check the date or version :nuke: for what I am reading that I find on the internet. Anyway it is a good problem to have for a product you are working with..

Actually, in my current job I don't need information for Argentina, I'm working mostly with US data.
However, I have a couple of local (ARG) customers who might want to buy me a solution that includes mapping tools. Do you know where or when can I get info for Argentina & Latin America?

Daniel

You can't extend the data in MapPoint (CD/DVD) - or not meaningfully.
I don't know what Virtual Earth coverage for Argentina is like. I would expect it is patchy - eg. pretty decent satellite photos for cities such Buenos Aires, but very low quality coverage for rural areas. (this is what I found for a recent Costa Rican project - for that I chose MapInfo and found my own data)
