OK here is my situation, its probably real easy but i dont have too much time to learn it and get it done.

I have an excel list with Store #, address, city, state, zip, etc. i only need these to show up on the balloon.

I need MP09 to group the address by 50 mile radius in one color then another color for another 50 mile radius and so on. The reason is that i have a salesforce and i want to assign them a range of stores. i also need the balloon to appear for printing purposes and on screen visual.

Please help. it is greatly appreciated.:surrender:

Do you mean everything within 50 miles is in one color.

Everything between 50 and 100 miles is another color, etc.

The Pushpin Tool ( Pushpin Tool Add-in - MP2K Magazine (http://www.mp2kmag.com/downloads/pushpin.tool/) - $75 ) will help manage the balloons.

Most companies have a salesman for an area ie:
salesman 1 has zipcodes 11356,11357,11358
salesman 2 has zipcodes 11211,11212,11213, etc. and each zip has x number of stores.
i need MP09 to map all the stores then by zip code put them in groups ie.
stores 1,2,3,4,5 are in 3 zipcodes within 50 mile radius in NY
stores 6,7,8,9,10 and in6 zip[codes in CT within a 50 mile radius

can MP09 say ok make all stores 1-5 one color based on a 50 mile radius
and another color for the other stores 6-10 based on that 50 mile radius.

and then i want to apply my sales force on those colors tha MP determines.

Sorry I read it but somehow I just don't visualize what you're looking for.. can you post a sample file or screenshot mock-up of what you're looking for?

ok attached is what i am looking for kind of. i want to put into MP from excel a list of addresses. After i import the data i want the pushpins to turn one color for a group of stores that are in a 50 mile radius. see the pic attached. does that clarify it better, i hope. i want MP to plot which stores are in the same proximity (50 mile radius). let me know if you have more questions.

So you're wanting cluster analysis? Ie. MapPoint will determine the groups for you? MapPoint can't do that.

You can colour the pushpins yourself by adding another data column in Excel and select the Multiple Pushpin option in the Data Import Wizard to select the pin colour according to this data column.

If drawing shapes around groups of pins is good enough for illustrative purposes, then the latest version of our MPSuperShape product can draw a shape around a group of selected pushpins. (you will need to select them first with MapPoint's selection box).

so i cannot put in a list of addresses and MP color the pushpins that represent an area. is there another program that does this?

We do liquidations and we get a list of 200 stores with addresses and other info. I need to get a mapping program that allows me to input the addresses and then let the map program cluster them by distance. So we can assign a supervisor to that group of stores. Can this be done with any ma program?

I got over that now. i need to list 27 ranges in the map showing a different color for each range. MP09 only does 8 ranges. How do i get all 27 in?

I was looking into the Pushpin Tool by MP2K. What if i wanted to show just the city/State and not the name, will it allow me to do that?

I don't think MapPoint will allow you to do that.. unless the City, State is the name. You cannot turn off Name in the balloon.

Is there any chance of changing the parameters to allow you to choose what you want in the balloon?

You can right-click on the dataset and go to properties to choose what to display in the balloon, but I think Name is always there at the top in the balloon, you cannot turn it off. OTOH, you could make the City, State be the name when you import.
