"GPS Business News interviewed with Rik Temmink, Vice President of product management at Tele Atlas. Rik Temmink has been with Tele Atlas since 2005. He was previously working at Microsoft where he was successively head of global marketing for MapPoint and manager of the MapPoint business development team for Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia Pacific."

Real-time traffic and traffic pattern are (imho) less important than the quality of map data itself. I wonder if the interviewer lives in Europe or in North America. If he lives in North America then he definetelly failed to ask an important question about what TeleAtlas is doing to bring the quality of their map data at least to the level of Navteq. TeleAtlas is still far behind Navteq in USA/Canada. I'm now in the process of looking at a new version of MapFactor PC Navigator 8 with USA/Canada maps (TeleAtlas data), and as it has always been in all previous TeleAtlas based products I have ever used, the first day I can find more errors and omissions than in a month of driving with a Navteq based product.

In Europe, Teleatlas has a better reputation apparently.

Rik's head shot is more than five years old... see article on MP2Kmag from 2003.
