Greetings:

I'm wondering if I can add a UTM grid layer onto my MS Streets & Trips 2009 software. I assist in managing a municipal Paramedic service in Ontario, Canada. All of our calls are dispatched with UTM coordinates (universal transverse mercator coordinate system). Is this feasible or are the IT Gods frowning??

Thanks

Bill

I think it would be hard to do with Streets & Trips.. with MapPoint you can import layers, but still you could not search on them.

I think your best bet with either Streets & Trip or MapPoint might be to import pusphins with the coordinates for reference. So rather than having gridlines, you would import a set of points. Maybe you would have the X coordinate as Name and the Y coordinate as Name2. I think you could figure out a way to search after that.

Good luck!

Eric

What is the easiest way to import coordinates into Streets and Trips. Can I do this from an excel spreadsheet, csv, or otherwise?? Where could I locate a sample file?

You can import a spreadsheet or csv.. check in the menu. I don't have Streets & Trips installed on this computer, but I think it's under Data.

Also, I don't know about Streets & Trips, but MapPoint has a bunch of tutorials and sample data that come with the product.
