Have written a program in VB using an Access Backend. I need to use MapPoint to show the records in the db on the U.S. map. I have a trial version for now and it seems to provide all that I need using the pushpins.

My questions:
Can anyone tell me the best way for a office of about 10 peope to access the Map? ie: Can they open a MapPoint file that is located on the server without MapPoint installed on their desktop? Can it open in a browser?
Maybe these are licensing issues? if so, what is the best and most efficient way to have our office access the MapPoint file?

Thanks for any help

There are a couple of ways:
1) If the users only need to view static maps, have your VB app save the appropriate views as web pages at regular intervals.
2) If they need interactive maps, you can get a multi-user license for each simultaneous user (ActiveX or the full MapPoint app). I think ActiveX will work over the web for the low numbers you are talking about, but I think you still need more licenses. Ask MapPoint sales.
3) If your records are just points (not shaded areas, etc.) you could consider developing on MapPoint .NET instead... but you probably don't have the kind of volume to make that cost-effective.
