Hi,

Here is my sistuation. I have a lisenced copy of MP2002 installed on my machine, which is also running my IIS server, through a "MSDN Universal" subscription with my employer.

I can run the MP2002 Application on my desktop, and use it. I can also "add a reference" in the VS.Net IDE and drag and drop the control into my ASP page.

Why am I still egtting this error ?
"MapPoint North America can't run because it is not registered on your system, or it can't be found. "

I have read on some other newsgroups that I should "add reference" of the MP2002 library and access the "Application" object,...but that seems against the MS online documentation.

Any suggestions ?

Thanks,

Jacek

The MapPoint 2002 EULA prohibits Internet use and it's not designed to work with IIS... you might look into the MapPoint .NET webservice though be prepared that the listed price starts at $15k (for something like 2M transactions).

Thanks fro the quick reponse Eric.

We are a startup company looking to provide a "proof-of-concept" demo product using a GIS software component.

We looked into .Net,..even did some premilinary coding with the 45 Day "trial" subscription,...but MP.Net lacks some of the key features we need. Plus the $15K for a demonstration is pretty steep.

Even though we might consider MP.Net for our eventual "consumer" product we need a low cost solution for the demo. Can you suggest any other programs ?

We need to implement 2 main goals;
1- Plot 1 GPS co-ordinate on a map
2- Plot last 24 Hr location "Path" on a map

Thanks again, Eric.

Regards,

Jacek

You might consider static maps or screenshots for the demo.
