I downloaded Mappoint from Kazaa. I got two files, the first one is a zip-file which i extracted to a cd-rom. The second one is an exe-file. I can't extract this one and when i start it, i get the message that it is not a valid win32 application. I also copied this file to a cd-rom, but this doesn't work either. I can do a small install from the first disk, but when i start Mappoint i need the rundisk. The second disk won't be recognized. To be sure i had the right file, i downloaded a new copy from Kazaa, but...same problems.
Who can tell me what i'm doing wrong? Who can tell me what's the directory-structure of the second mappointdisk and its volumename.

The policy is not to support pirated software in this forum..
That said, it seems clear the 2nd disk that's floating around on Kazaa is corrupt. You might try ordering the 60-day that's included in the MapPoint For Dummies book: http://www.mp2kmag.com/mp4dummies.asp

I already ordered the demo version, but i'm off to the USA december 11th and i can't be sure the demoversion will be sent to me before that that, i ordered it yesterday and it takes 3 to 7 busineesdays to get here.
Probably you're right and the file is corrupted, but i downloaded it twice from different users.
Thanks for responding anyway!

to be informative for others like this guy. If you ever get that error from a downloaded file from any peer-to-peer sharing... rename the .EXE file to ither .img-----.bin----------or .iso.... then burn image to disk. with nero.
enjoy...
