Listed are a couple of examples. They are valid USPS Zipcodes on the USPS lookup website, they show in 2 separate corporate zipcode databases, but they do not show on MapPoint 2011. There is a large area in Arizona that does not plot zipcodes. So I do not know if my MapPoint is broken, or the MapPoint database does not plot certain zipcodes, or what.
Can anyone shed some light and is it fixable?

Are those fast growing areas? MapPoint's data for MapPoint 2011 was probably compiled two or so years ago, so eventually it should make it into the product, but it probably didn't make it into the 2011 version just based on timing.

You'd probably have to make some kind of translation table such as your zip code "85193" is closest to MapPoint's "85222" or if you have lat/lons for the zip codes then map with that instead of zip code.

So you do not see them as well. There is a whole section missing. Does this not look odd?

I looked at one of the areas, and MapPoint does have zip codes everywhere, I don't see that there is an area where there is no zip code, it's probably just the zip codes are mentioned are new and carved out sections of the old zip codes?

ACTUALLY - my screenshot is from MapPoint 2010 NA! (I'm doing some work for a client who hasn't upgraded yet, so I presently have 2010 installed and not MapPoint 2011.)

And, from what you are showing, MapPoint 2011 would indeed be broken in this case. Wow. Can anyone else with MapPoint 2011 North America installed confirm this?

I wonder if you dumped out all the zip codes from MapPoint 2010 and see how many do not appear in MapPoint 2011 if this would be contained to this one area or if there are other patches around the country.

As far as I understood, I didn't think Microsoft actually updated the zip code data from MapPoint 2010 to 2011, so I don't know how this would get messed up.

So how can I confirm the zip codes loaded into 2011. I do not have 2010 to compare to. Is there a database I can query and see what zips are loaded?

Let's compare MapPoint 2010 NA and MapPoint 2011 NA zip codes first.

Take a look at the attached.

The Excel file is a dump of all the MapPoint 2010 zip codes exported by MapPoint into Excel. It said there are 30,001 of them. This seems low -- I think there are about 42k total zip codes, but since it did a shaded area demographic map, it's probably really only all the zip codes with "areas" and not point zip codes such as buildings.

To do the same thing with MapPoint 2011, open the PTM file attached in MapPoint 2011. It will probably say that it needs to convert from a previous format and it might take a while. Let us know how this goes.

Next, you could just right-click on the circle and do Export to Excel. It will take a few minutes to export all of them. If you don't get this far, let me know and I'll tell you how to set up a similar map in MapPoint 2011.

Then zip and post your list on here and I'll compare the two lists in Access doing and unmatched query in both directions. We could then map the results and see where there are any holes or patches around the U.S.

From the USPS site for Zipcode 85222 that shows, crazy!

Maybe 85222 got replaced. (?) I thought they usually just carve new zip codes out of old zip codes leaving the existing zip code area smaller, but I'm no expert.
