Staging-Geocoding by city instead of country/region

In a mappoint staging environment, we have uploaded a datasource with multiple addresses within a city. We have been trying to get a map with multiple pushpins within a single city, but the service only returns one pushpin over the city. We would like to display addresses within a city from our datasource , after either a zip or city have been entered. Could anyone let us know the exact procedure to set up the datasource so mappoint returns the locations within a city?

Thanks in advance

Hello,

The big question here is to what level all these addresses geocoded when you uploaded them. Is that only one pushpin or multiple pushpins all stacked on top of each other.

When you upload a file you can specify to what level of the hierarchy you wish to go. So, if MapPoint can't geocode the street it tries the postal code and if it can't find the postal code it will try the city. You can specify how far up this hierarchy we try.

I assume that you're doing some type of FindX method call against the uploaded data and that you are then taking the results and building a pushpins array that you are passing to the GETMAP method. First, check to see how many results you are getting back and if more than one then whether they all have the same lat/long.
