Start local Mapapoint 2009

I am trying to use the vba module that comes with my MSContacts program to open my local MapPoint program instead of going out on the internet to open the live MapPoint.

I have done very little vba programming in the past few years. Any help with this will be greatly appreciated.

Here is what I have now. It seems to hang on the call of the sub.

Code:

Function OpenMap(Address, City, State, Zip, Country)
    Dim strAddress As String
    strAddress = Nz(Address)
    strAddress = strAddress & IIf(strAddress = "", "", ", ") & Nz(City)
    strAddress = strAddress & IIf(strAddress = "", "", ", ") & Nz(State)
    strAddress = strAddress & IIf(strAddress = "", "", ", ") & Nz(Zip)
    strAddress = strAddress & IIf(strAddress = "", "", ", ") & Nz(Country)

    If strAddress = "" Then
        MsgBox "There is no address to map."
    Else
        Call OpenMP
    End If
End Function

Public Sub OpenMP()
    Dim objApp As New MapPoint.Application
    objApp.Visible = True
    objApp.UserControl = True
    objApp.OpenMap "strAddress"

 End Sub
The "else" in the original function was:
Application.FollowHyperlink "http://maps.live.com/default.aspx?where1=" & strAddress

Re: Start local Mapapoint 2009

I'm not familiar with MSContacts, but if it is anything like Excel or Access VBA, try the debugger.. you can single step each of the lines of code to see where it is hanging or breaking down.

Also, there are several Excel VBA samples here --
