State Sums

Hi all... Been playing with MapPoint at work and we have a need to show a map of the US with the number of Alumni from each state ON each state. So on the state of CA we'd have a big "636", on the state of TX we'd have "222" and so on.

Is this possible with MapPoint? I haven't found a way to do it yet with MapPoint or Microsoft Map (including in the Office Suite)

Thanks!

-Tom

You could do that in Mappoint either Interactively or programmatically.

Interactively in mappoint use the textbox on the drawing toolbar.

If you would like some ideas on how to do this programmatically, let us know.

Showing a number on each county

I have the 60-day trial version of this program. I am mapping data by county in my state. I imported the data from Excel and got it to display as various shades. I need to know how to get Mappoint to automatically show the actual data value that I imported on each county. This has to show up all the time on each county, or this isn't the right program for me. I can't take time to enter the number on each county using the drawing tools because there are 99 counties in my state and I have many many maps to create.

Rita,

I do not know of a way to do that using mappoint interactively. Maybe someone else can verify for us by joining in here. However, I'm sure it can be done programatically (like in a visual basic program) but it would be a project.
