SummitPoint Management Expands its Operations-Based Competencies to Include Geospatial

Chicago, Illinois – SummitPoint Management LLC, a Chicago-based consultancy offering operations due diligence and advisory services, has strengthened its technology sector expertise with the addition of Daniel Sarlitto.

Dan has broad and deep experience in the geospatial marketplace and technology sectors, having served over 17 years in both technical and business roles of increasing responsibility with companies including Celartem Technology Inc., DeLorme Publishing, Microsoft Corporation, Champion International Corporation, and Intergraph Corporation. On behalf of SummitPoint, Dan is currently working with Microsoft’s Windows Live Platform - MSN Shared Services Group.

Highlights of Dan’s career include directing the geospatial imaging product line for Celartem - the flagship GeoExpress with MrSID® and JPEG 2000, Oracle® Spatial 10g integration; DeLorme’s airborne acquisition business and association with the USDA NAIP program – TopoBird, a fully digital 3-D aerial mapping platform that employs high-resolution, multi-spectral sensing and LiDAR (Light Detection and Ranging) scanning technologies; and several years at Microsoft driving software and data development efforts including finished goods and Web services, such as Streets & Trips, AutoRoute, MapPoint, and MapPoint Web Services. Prior to Microsoft, Dan managed GIS activities for Champion International Corporation’s Forest Products Division. Initially, Dan spent several years at Intergraph Corporation where he was responsible for key reference accounts including The Boeing Company, BP Exploration, Procter & Gamble, and various Local, State, and Federal Agencies. Dan is published, maintains professional memberships in MAPPS, URISA, AAG, and ASPRS, and teaches Science and Mathematics at a Seattle-based Academy.
