Is there a fast way of adding pushpins?

I am adding sets of pushpins upto 1000 at a time that show a vehicles route for a day. I am adding one pushpin at a time and for many pushpins can take upto 30-40 seconds to draw them all. Is there a faster way to do this?

Use ImportData

Use the ImportData or LinkData method ... should be several orders of magnitude faster. Refer to MapPoint Programming help for details.

Not sure how to implement this. In my app i have an array of lat, lon ,heading and type this is used to overlay a rount onto the map. The symbol for a position is an arrow in the direction of travel, And for a stop position it is a flag. All of which are custom sysmbols loaded when the app is run. Any ideas on how to add a dataset such as this?[/url]

I had the same problem with thousands of pushpins to visualize. I solved that with a different approach. I copied the map to the clipboard and then into my app. Then I can directly draw on the canvas. The conversion from WGS-coordinates to screen coordinates I have done via an appoximation from the screen edges (MP has an orthographic projection). This works quite well but was hard work.
