UK postcode mapping problems

Hi - I am trying to generate a data chart using a list of about 800 uk postcodes, but the programme rejects many of these (in the mapping wizard). I have checked many of the 'rejects' individually and the programme will locate them. It seems to have most problems with BT (Belfast ) codes - it just chucks them all out, and some Birmingham ones.

Someone has suggested trying to 'convert' the codes into grid references, and try that way, but I cant find a programme which will do it.

Does anyone have any experience of mapping wizard, or any ideas ??
Robin

UK Postcodes

There are a few areas in addition to BT postcodes that MapPoint does not like.

The problem is that Royal Mail changed and added certain postcode areas after MapPoint was created.

Birkenhead and The Wirrall were all Liverpool "L" postcodes but have now been moved to Chester "CH" areas.

Also, some new postcode areas haven been added to Southampton "SO" codes, and the same in Cardiff with new "CF" areas being added.

The only solution I have found is to learn by trial and error and create a lookup table to amend these postcodes before running them into MapPoint.

This is far from ideal but I have yet to find any sort of patch/update to reflect these changes, but as I regularly run in data from about 6500 records needs must.................

Perhaps MP 2002 does have the correct information, but I would want confirmation of this before I bought it.
