USB to RS232 Adapters

I have a laptop which has only USB ports, no serial (RS232) ports, and a GPS receiver with a serial connector. Will MP2004 support USB to RS232 adapters?

Everyone (e.g. DeLorme) else seems to have solved the problem, but not Microsoft.
