Using different input files to route

    Hi,

I dont think this can be done, but its worth a try to ask anyway, otherwise i have a very time consuming task on my hands!

Basically i input say 50 postcodes from the first file which we can call 'homes'

I then input 100 postcodes from a second file which we can call 'branches'

I need to route each of the 'homes' to the nearest 'branch' and have a list of each route so i can work out the distance.

Currently i have both the postcode files inputed one with yellow and one red and im basically right clicking on the yellow'home' to add as start point, then finding the nearest red branch right clicking add as end then getting the distance that way.

    Thanks for any help

See if Winwaed Software's MileCharter works for you:
MileCharter: Create Mileage Charts with Microsoft® MapPoint®

If not, Mattys Consulting has the ability to get this done quickly.

    Yes MileCharter should do this.
Load your two groups in as two separate pushpinsets (MapPoint's Data Import Wizard).

The Basic license can calculate all combinations, but you just want the closest.
So use the "Find Closest" option and tell it to find the 1 closest.
