Using long lists

Newbie here. My use is to import long lists from Excel (sometimes over 1000) and get an optimized route. The list also has a column of address identifiers or codes. I would then like to have the program as a typical GPS with that list. The lists are always different.
I've been using S&T but that limits to 50 on a route. Does MP allow long lists?
Thanks

Re: Using long lists

Once you've gotten to know MapPoint, you'll see that there is little point
to putting in over about 50 point on a route. The calculation time alone
should be a deterrant enough, but you probably can't service them all
in one day on a single route anyway.

Re: Using long lists

Mattys Consulting,
That is a good point about not being able to service more than 50 addressses a day, although it is nice to be able to have all your locations represented together on one map, even if you just work off a few points at a time.

AshA and/or Mattys Consulting,
Has the optimized routing function gotten any better in MP2010? I remember it being almost useless in the previous versions, at least for some of my applications.

Thank you,
Alex
