We will be cruising from Dover around the Baltic and then doing a trans-Atlantic rrepositioning cruse. When I set up Mappoint to travel from Dover to Copenhagen there is no way to have the travel be by sea, as will be the case aboard the cruise ship. Does anyone know of a practical way for one to use Mappoint to MAP the cruise, rather than just have the trail from the GPS on the map? Why does Mappoint assume that one has to be driving? I would also use Mappoint while on a train, or when flying.

Because the navigation tools are road navigation tools? I think pedestrian and cycling routes are much more needed than marine or air.

What exactly are you want to map for the air and sea? All that is practical is to show your location and to leave a track.

True marine and air navigation would require a legal responsibility and data updates which Microsoft and MapPoint simply aren't geared for. (in fact, no consumer GPS device is). Also for air use, the FAA and the airlines have regulations regarding GPS devices - even though most commercial aircraft are still metal tubes that act as pretty effective Faraday cages!
