Hi,
I have a gif file generated using mappoint.
I am trying to embed this image in a PDF file.

When I try to load the gif file using the VB.Net function call:

Image.FromFile("xyz.gif")

where xyz.gif is the image of the map generated using mappoint.


I get an "Out of Memory" exception.

Has anyone faced this problem ?

Can you load any other images with the same code and just not the ones generated by mappoint?

Yes all other images can be loaded with the same code. Even other ".gif" files (non Mappoint) can be generated.


The .Net documentation for Image.FromFile says that "Out of memory" exception occurs only if the image format is not valid.

But we can open the image in other applications like IE, MS Imaging, MS Paint etc.


Is there something specific to Mappoint images that cause the call to fail?
