VBA Access 2002 Code Help Needed

I have a forms code call out to load map point and plot some pins. The problem comes into play when I exit the form and reenter the form. The form doesn’t know that map point is still running. Is there a line of code that can call to see if an instance of map point is already running so that I can skip the part in my code that creates the object again?
