VBA: "exportto excel" for a drivetimezone shape?

    Hello everybody!

I'm a new user of MapPoint 2010 (Europe) and i'm trying to implement a routine in Excel/VBA that:

    - creates in MapPoint pushpin & drivetimezones from a list of coordinates (input sheet)
    - export from MapPoint data contained in those shapes automatically (like using the MapPoint GUI function "Export To excel"

I saw in VBA libraries that method "ExportToexcel" seems to be applicable only to MapPoint.SelectedArea and not to shapes ...

Any help would be very appreciated

    Thank You

    Hi,

Can you please rephrase your question?
You want to import something and export it again, so I don't understand.
What are the shapes you are talking about?
    please ellaborate

Re: VBA: "exportto excel" for a drivetimezone shape?

    hi Wilfried,

I have an excel sheet with name, typology e and coordinates (LAT,LONG) of a series of points.
The map has some demographics data at municipal level (population, surface, ...)

    i need to:
    a) "plot" them in MapPoint 2010 as pushpins (different pushpin by typology)
    b) create drivetimezones for each pushpin with fixed time
    c) export for each pushpin-related drivetimezone the demographics of municipalities thar are IN the zone

All this with a "magic" VBA code ...

I was wondering also about the logic of inclusion of a municipality in a shape: do you know the rule? e.g the municipality is considered "in the shape" when its centroid is in the shape or what else?

Thank You very much for your help

    Hi NicolaT,

I suppose that you've found that you'll need to use queryshape by now
to find which pins fall into the drivetime zones of any particular pin.

As for municipalities, you'll have to find the intersection of the lines
from both the municipality and the drivetime. This can be done
using SQLServer 2008, but it takes some work.
