Virtual Earth for Superbowl Fans

As ye faithful readers of my blog know, I try to stick to Virtual Earth topics as they relate to Public Sector. Having said that, I am guessing that there are at least as many football fans in the Public sector as there are in the private so I think I am staying the course and looking out for my readership by alerting you to a terrific service provided by Microsoft partner SpatialPoint.

Just in time for Game Day, SpatialPoint has launched a Virtual Earth based web application that will help people find radio stations carrying the game on football’s biggest night, wherever they may be located. FollowTheGame.com uses Microsoft SQL Server 2008, Microsoft Virtual Earth, and SpatialPoint Atlas to allow users to enter a location where they will be for the game, or an origin and destination for a route on which they’ll be traveling, and get a map with a list of all of the AM and FM radio stations where they will be able to listen to the game.

SpatialPoint’s Atlas technology allows visualization of even the most complex datasets on top of the Virtual Earth Platform. In this case, the radio stations coverage polygons, as registered with the FCC (Federal Communications Commission), are displayed by Atlas.

This means that no matter where you on come Superbowl time, you don't have to miss a minute!

Re: Virtual Earth for Superbowl Fans

I'm from Chicago and a Bears fan, but it was depressing to see the Packers lose with all the "gifts" i.e. earlier in the game including missed field goals, given to them.

I recently read the home team in football playoffs historically win 70% of games.

It was their game to lose, and they lost it. Poor Cheeseheads. Ha

Ha Ha

Ha Ha Ha!

OK, I am better now.
