I tried many times to import data to mappoint.. but everytime, it just give me one thumnail. I have many addresses that I would like to map, but it just isnt working for me. Anyone have any idea on why it is like that?

My older mappoint on xp does it fine. But 2007 doesnt want to do that. When I dbl click on the thumbnail, it brings out a box with all the addresses in it.

Any help would be appreciated..I searched the forums and I could not find any problems related to mine. Maybe I missed it?

Maybe MapPoint can't find the addresses and is plotting all points to a
common Zip Code? (When you say thumbnail you mean pushpin, right?)

yes, pushpin, sorry about that. But iam pointing to all the address. zip. city.state in all different cells. I dont know Why its keep doing that.

Post some addresses so folks with various systems may try plotting.
Someone will discover what the problem is and the fix.

1-3 would be names. Next address. Then City. And then State would be VA I have those in order.

Hi,

That's probably the problem. You have to specify properly with delimiters otherwise MapPoint cannot tell in which word for example the address begins and in where it end (even I cannot if I read this address).

hmm..i didnt check after i posted. I guess copying from excel and pasting here isnt a good idea.

I have them all set up under each colum with name, address, city and zip. Mappoint asks me which headings it should use. Just dont get how 2003mappoint works and 2007 dosent. any way to update the mapdata on 2003?

Can you post some data ? But the exact way as you let MapPoint import it? Then some people will be glad to help and try to import it and debug what is wrong.

I have only MP Europe version, but still if I could see the data it could help.

You talk about Mappoint 2003 and 2007. I assume you mean 2002 and 2006 ?

Also you tell that 2002 works. Is this with exactly same data files on the very same computer at the same time with the same user ??

Sorry for not replying fast enough. Didnt have the time.

Ive attatched a sample address with the excel saved in 97-2003 mode.

It still does the same thing. Cannot get the pushpins on each addresses.

Someone please look at the file and let me know.

Maybe iam doing something wrong.
