We are using MapPoint 2001 but hope you can still help.

We have an Excel spreadsheet which lists hospitals that use and don't use our products (single column with a yes or no for use or don't use). As a hospital starts to use our products, we want to change the column entry from
a no to a yes and want to automatically "refresh" the map to change the color of a pushpin from a "no" color to a "yes" color. Often there are several hospitals in each city, so pushpins seem to be the best representation. We realize we can accomplish the desired end result by filtering the Excel Worksheet, creating two separate worksheets for
hospitals that use and don't our products each time after modifying the info, then importing each with a different color pushpin and recreating a new map each time we do updates. It seems that there should be more of an automated way to do this, perhaps by somehow using the "data ranges" which
quite frankly I don't understand. I would be very grateful for your help.

Thank you!

In the 2002 version of MapPoint, there is a "multiple pushpin" option that allows you to designate an icon for each value in your source file. So in your case, you would select one icon for all YES values, and another for all NO values. You link to the source file (rather than import it), so that changes in the source file are immediately reflected in the map.
