Hi,

I installed the Web service SDK. The installation folder only has a 'samples' and 'help' folder. Tryed some of the samples, but there are classes and files missing.

I found this on a FAQ on Microsoft site:

Once users have registered the MapPoint Web Service Web Services Description Language (WSDL) with their Visual Studio Solution, Visual Studio .NET automatically generates the methods and classes for the MapPoint Web Service.

Nice But how do I register this WSDL, what is it and where is it? I found a Wsdl.exe command line tool in the .NET SDK folder, but running it specifieing the path where I installed the SDK produces only a bunch of errors.

Clearly I'm missing something, but what ?

Hi,

I found http://staging.mappoint.net/standard-30/mappoint.wsdl that should be add as web reference.

It seems that if I add it to the sample projects (needed for both C# and VB
samples), then it complains it already exists. But if I add it anyway then I
can compile.

So I think I have been started

Hi,

Still something is wrong. I thought to try first some of the sample applications. The ClickToCenter was working fine.

But I tryed several others and there I always get the error 'MapPointService not found'. So it seems I'm still lost

Any ideas ?

Hi,

Answering my own question But thanks to JP Sanders check following articles:

You receive error messages when Visual Studio 2005 upgrades MapPoint Web Service SDK 4.1 sample projects
You receive compiler warning messages and error messages when you try to convert the MapPoint Web Service SDK version 4.1 sample applications to Visual Studio 2005 projects

And yes the first one was solution. VS2005 does not translate properly from VS2003 and I got 1 application to work in 1 minute. So up and running now
