What about us Aussies

No doubt about it you guys in USA have all the you beaut technology and don't mind sharing it with us colonials from down under.

In fact we buy more PC's per person than almost any other country in the world. We even have access to your networks and data.

But stop pretending that there are no detailed maps of Australia. There has been a US military presence here since long before the Cold War. They would have the whole place surveyed and lots of GPS coordinates logged as places of interest.

Yet all we get are main roads and some major rivers on a world map.

If we are good enough to sell you hardware to give us the data that makes it as useful in Australia as North America or Europe.

Honestly guys, it is well beyond time to let us participate in real system use.

Before you know it some smart IT guy out here will copy your GPS technology and develop mapping software which will take away all the big bucks your companies are too slack to go looking for.

Talk to Auslig and the Central Mapping Authority if you want to pretend there are no Australian maps in USA.

There's a rumour that it might be released at TechEd in Canberra next month. Let see what happens.
