What is the defference between MapPoint and Streets & Trips with GPS?

Besides the cost (you have probably already seen), MapPoint includes a lot of features for display data on the map, including shaded maps, charts, etc.

If you have some time, I'd recommend to download this MapPoint 2006 Trial

MapPoint also has a very complete API for automating tasks in MapPoint and integrating it with other applications, see Programming Information in the Help file. You cannot do this with Streets & Trips.

S&T has a set interface
MP has that same basic interface, but has more capabilities for displaying data
It also has an 'open API', which allows the integration of MapPoint into other applications or ibnto new applications. One could actually create their own GIS application and have it based on the MP API.
