Will MapPoint do this, that, and the other?

Hi all. I've been investigating mappoint to see if it will do what I would like it to do. I'm a political campaign shill, and there's a couple things I could see myself using MapPoint for right away.

First, obviously, would be graphical representation of election districts and voting patterns. To do that I would need to create new geography info for precincts and districts using county shapefiles or whatever, and I just want to confirm MapPoint will let me do that. There's the post below this mentioning mapping precincts, but frankly I don't understand what limitations already exist in the system - it's not very attractive if I've got to purchase yet another piece of software to make MapPoint do something it really should do out of the box...

Secondly, I'd like to set up doorbelling routes for targeted residences. I.e., I have a list of addresses, and I want the most effecient route between them. Playing around with the online evaluation of mappoint, the "optomize route" button did what's needed, but I had to manually add each address to the route. Is there a way to add a whole list of addresses to the route in a single operation? Again, something it should do out of the box...

Thanks all

Re: Will MapPoint do this, that, and the other?

If you import your addresses into MapPoint as pushpins, MapPoint can add multiple pushpins to a route.

Our RouteReader product will also add the pins to a route but maintain their order (as defined by a sequence data field that you've also imported).

Of course this depends which party you're working for...
