Will MapPoint Work for Me

Hello. I was assigned a task today to determine a where 1000 of our employees are located within a 4 county area. We are considering buying a new building and want to see where the concentration of our employees live. I have House Number, Street Name, City, State and 5 digit zipcode. Through my searches I found a place that I can get Longitude and Latidtude.

Ideally I would like to see a scattergram style map where a dot exists on the map for each address loaded. I think I should be able to see the concentration at that point.

My questions are:

1. Can MapPoint give me Longitude and Latitude, or will I even need it?
2. Will MapPoint be able to give me the type of map I am looking for?

Thanks in advance for your help.
Rob

MapPoint can import data by street address. Eg. you put your data in an Excel Spreedsheet or a database (eg. Access or ODBC), and run the data import wizard.
You want the pushpin map.

If you have good longitude, latitude values then this will be more reliable - mainly because you might have addresses that are mis-spelt or they're on streets which have just been built.

I would try simple street addresses first though - and not pay for the longitude, latitude coordinates unless you need them.
