I'm not sure I'm in the right place. But here's my question:

When I go to Web browser and Live Maps are incompatible I'm being redirected to Windows Live Search Maps - Lokale Suche mit Microsoft Virtual Earth-Technologie

That's a German version of Live Search Maps; and I don't read German.
At one time, I was able to see the English version. But the next day, I got redirected to the German page.

How can I stop being redirected to Windows Live Search Maps - Lokale Suche mit Microsoft Virtual Earth-Technologie ?

Wow, I just read my post and the links I gave have words instead of the actual URL. I don't know how that happened. Sorry

OMG, the internet knows everything. I continued searching for help and found a post that said I should use this URL to stay on the English map:

http://maps.live.com?mkt=en-en

Yes, very good..

I think it might actually is supposed to be http://maps.live.com/?mkt=en-us, but I know en-en works too..

I was having this problem while in China recently.. it was always redirecting to http://ditu.live.com

Also, I have heard people in Autralia get redirected to a custom local site and if they want the regular maps.live.com they have to use that mkt parameter.

By the way, a feature of the board is to change links to the title of the target page, but you can override it.. see a checkbox below when you are writing a new post - "Automatically retrieve titles from external links". Uncheck to disable the behaviour.
