Winwaed Software Technology is proud to announce the first "pre-release beta" of The Grid Imp.

This useful tool lets you import gridded data into MapPoint, and includes the following features:

- Support for multiple text file formats
- Ability to set output extents
- Draft Mode for quick 'test' plots
- Different colormaps
- Optimized polygons for faster rendering
- Supports MapPoint versions 2002 and 2004
- Supports North American and European editions of MapPoint


The final version will also have the following abilities:

- Support for different input/output grid intervals
- Support for non-gridded input data
- Fully customizable colormaps
- Improved support for systems with multiple MapPoint editions installed

Version v0.2b of The Grid Imp has been released. See the the Grid Imp page for details and download link.

This version includes a proper installer and un-installer, as well as the following new features:

- Support for any input data order
- Support for poorly gridded input data
- Support for holes, and interpolation across them (if required)
- Ability to re-grid data to a new grid
- Ability to easily select which MapPoint to use, if both the North American
and European editions are installed.
- Tooltips
- User-closure of MapPoint is handled cleanly.
