ZIP+4 support

I hope this isn't too much of a newbie question, but I can't figure out how to do it, and I haven't found anything on it in the forums.

I have some data associated with zip+4 codes. How can I get MapPoint to create a map of this data at the zip+4 level?

Thanks,
John

Re: ZIP+4 support

MapPoint won't geocode at a zip4 level, I think it is as would be expected for a product at this low price.

Do you have addresses, could you geocode at the address level?

Eric

Re: ZIP+4 support

Thanks for your quick reply!

Yes, I have addresses. Can I use that and then map at the zip+4 level?

Thanks,
John

Re: ZIP+4 support

If MapPoint can't do it, is there a plugin available that can?

Which products are more likely to support it?

Many thanks,
John

Re: ZIP+4 support

"Address-level" is even more detailed I think than "Zip4-level" so if you have addresses to map you should be fine with MapPoint. ?

Commercial / high-powered geocoders include MapMarker from MapInfo Corp which I think runs around 15k per year, also check out G1 which I think starts at 35k. This is what Microsoft is using for their stuff -- Press Release | Press Room | Pitney Bowes Group 1 Software

Re: ZIP+4 support

What I'm really trying to do is create a map at the zip+4 level, coloring each zip+4 region based on the values associated with records from that zip+4.

For example, if I know that a zip+4 region has someone with an income over a certain amount, and I know the addresses of people receiving service XYZ, I want to see which zip+4 regions with incomes over a certain level have less than a 10% penetration rate of service XYZ. I need to represent that on a map somehow.

Doing something at the address level won't meet my needs.

Regards,
John
